Vermont Dairy Festival
Enosburg Falls – June 2-5, 2011
This fun family event – celebrating its 55th year – is an annual tradition in Franklin County. The festival features a midway, crafts, food, raffle, contests, dairy farm tours, a parade and fireworks on Saturday, and stage entertainment. For more information, visit www.vermontdairyfestival.com.

Annual Strolling of the Heifers Weekend
Brattleboro – June 3-5, 2011
See the stars of the annual Strolling of the Heifers Parade – 100 flower-bedecked bovine beauties – begin strolling up Main Street on Saturday at 10 a.m. on Main Street. The parade will be followed by a festival featuring music, food and more. Enjoy the inaugural Tour de Heifer – a trio of scenic farm-to-farm bicycle rides with routes ranging from 6 to 60 miles. Burlington Discover Jazz Festival
Burlington – June 3-12, 2011
Enjoy a unique mix of concerts, dances, jams, street parties, workshops and more at the annual Burlington Discover Jazz Festival. Artists for the 2011 festival include Herbie Hancock, Béla Fleck and the Original Flecktones, Terence Blanchard, and many others. Pullman Parade
Manchester – June 4, 2011
The 65-foot long 1903 Pullman Palace Car, Sunbeam, will make her debut in a hometown parade through Manchester complete with marching bands. After four years of restoration in South Carolina, Sunbeam, considered to be the finest example of a restored, wooden Pullman, will now call the 412-acre estate of presidential son and Pullman Company President, Robert Lincoln, her home. Sunbeam opens to the public on Aug. 1 at Hildene. For more information, visit www.hildene.org.

Vermont Days
Statewide – June 11-12, 2011
Vermont Days is the weekend to celebrate the arrival of summer and enjoy a free sampling
of Vermont’s excellent fishing, state parks, and historic and cultural resources. Vermont State Park day areas, state-owned historic sites, and the Vermont History Museum in Montpelier will be open to all at no charge. June 11 is free fishing day – the one day in the year when residents and non-residents may go fishing without a license.  For more information, visit www.vermontdays.com.

Kids’ Pirate Festival
Vergennes – June 11-12, 2011

LCI Father’s Day Fishing Derby
Lake Champlain – June 18-20, 2011

Quechee Hot Air Balloon, Craft and Music Festival
Quechee – June 17-19, 2011
The skies over Quechee will be filled with colorful hot air balloons during the annual festival, which is the longest running balloon festival in New England. The annual family-oriented event includes food, more than 60 craft artisans, children’s activities, commercial vendors and live entertainment. Rides are available for a fee throughout the weekend and reservations are recommended. Quechee Green. Balloon flights 6 p.m. on Friday; 6 a.m. and 6 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday. Vermont Invitational Lumberjack Competition
East Burke – June 18, 2011
This third annual event features a variety of competition categories, including log rolling, bucksaw, ax throwing and underhand chop. Vermont Quilt Festival
Essex Junction – June 24-26, 2011
The Vermont Quilt Festival takes place at the Champlain Valley Expo. Enjoy hundreds of beautiful quilts on display. Annual Stowe Wine and Food Classic
Stowe – June 24-26, 2011
Northern New England’s premier culinary event at the Trapp Family Lodge features gourmet cuisine with vintage wines. Lookout Century Ride
Killington – June 25, 2011
This inaugural cycling event is a benefit for Vermont Adaptive Ski and Sports, the largest year-round disabled sports non-profit organization in Vermont. The recreational ride loops through the towns of Killington, Pittsfield, Bethel, Barnard, Woodstock, Ludlow, Bridgewater and Plymouth. The event features 100-mile, 60-mile and 20-mile rides. Old-Fashioned Strawberry Supper

Served family-style, the town’s annual supper features ham, baked beans, assorted salads, and homemade breads with old-fashioned double layered strawberry shortcake made with fresh local strawberries. Strawberry Festival
East Thetford – June 26, 2011
The 9th annual Strawberry Festival features children’s crafts, face painting, strawberry picking, live music, horse-drawn wagon rides, educational displays, self-guided farm tour, farm-made food concessions, fresh salads, organic local ice cream, and more.
