MONTPELIER, Vt. – Vermont tourism officials are encouraging visitors to take advantage of midweek lodging deals this winter. More than 20 lodging properties around the state are offering a variety of deals between December and March as part of a statewide Midweek Lodging Specials promotion organized by the Vermont Department of Tourism and Marketing. Deals range from discounted lodging to complimentary lift passes. Details are available online at www.VermontVacation.com. “Visitors have the opportunity to find a diverse and affordable range of midweek options for winter lodging through this annual promotion,” said Vermont Tourism and Marketing Commissioner Bruce Hyde. “We’re expecting another excellent winter season with plenty of skiing, riding, snowmobiling to enjoy, and we hope visitors will take advantage of the many special lodging deals around Vermont.” Visitors make 14.3 million trips to Vermont each year and visitor spending adds an estimated $1.57 billion to the state’s economy, according to VDTM research.
